나의 작품은 개인적인 일상에서 비롯된 관심에서 시작된다. 도심 속 거리를 걸어 다니다 보면 언제나 나의 시선 끝은 아파트나 빌딩들이 가지런히 나열된 모습에 닿아있었다. 특히나 건축물들이 만들어내는 흐트러지지 않은 깔끔한 선, 그 직선이 만들어내는 느낌이 좋았다. 이렇듯 일상에서 마주한 건축물을 모티브 삼아 그 안에서 발견한 직선의 미학을 나만의 시각으로 작품을 통해 이야기하고자 한다. 나의 작업은 입체를 평면으로, 다시 평면을 입체로 표현하는 과정의 반복이다. 우리는 늘 아래에서 위로 거대한 건축물을 올려다보지만, 내 작업 안에서는 의도적으로 투시를 지워냄으로써 익숙한 구조물을 낯설고 새로운 시각으로 마주하게 된다. 그렇게 새롭게 표현된 투명한 유리 조각들이 나타내는 구성을 통해 선과 면이 자아내는 관계와 공간의 미학을 찾고자 한다.

My practice originates from observations rooted in my daily life. Walking through urban streets, my gaze is invariably drawn to the orderly repetition of apartment complexes and high-rise buildings. I am particularly captivated by the clean, unyielding lines of these structures and the distinct, rigid tension their linearity creates. Using everyday architecture as a core motif, I translate the geometric aesthetics found within these forms through my own visual language.

My process is a cyclical inquiry: transforming the three-dimensional into the two-dimensional, and back again into dimensional space. While we typically look up at massive structures from a low vantage point, I intentionally flatten and eliminate linear perspective. This structural inversion allows familiar architecture to be confronted through a fresh, defamiliarized lens. Through the compositions of these reconstructed, transparent glass modules, I explore the subtle interplay between line and plane, ultimately uncovering the intrinsic aesthetics of space.
