작가는 빛이 머무르고 흘러가는 순간에 주목한다.

도시의 등불, 해가 기울며 번지는 아침놀, 나무 사이를 걸을 때 피부에 스며드는 햇살, 커튼 틈새로 퍼져 나오는 빛, 비 내린 뒤 우산 끝에 맺힌 빗방울. 이러한 장면들 속에서 가슴 깊은 곳에 형상―심상(心象)으로 머무른다.

유리는 규칙이 없이 굳어 있는 특별한 물질이다. 그래서 불안한 마음을 닮았다. 그러나 굴절과 투과, 화학적 반응을 거쳐 빛을 담을 때, 그 불안은 새로운 형상으로 정제된다. 기포 안에 머무는 빛, 반사와 굴절로 드러나는 그림자, 여백 속에 스며드는 고요한 흐름은 나의 조형 언어가 된다.

오늘날 미디어와 반복된 도시의 삶은 사람들로 하여금 작은 빛을 놓치게 만든다. 나는 유리 조형을 통해 잊힌 빛을 되살리고, 관객의 마음에 다시 머무르게 한다. 그것은 화려하거나 과장된 표현이 아니라, 비워낸 공간 속에 은은히 스며드는 기운이다. 내게 추구하는 작업은, 유리라는 재료를 통해 관객의 마음속에 빛이 머무르는 자리를 만드는 일다.

The artist focuses on the moments when light lingers and flows. City lights, the dawn spreading as the sun tilts, sunlight seeping through trees and into the 

skin, the glow escaping through a curtain’s edge, raindrops gathering on the tip of an umbrella—such scenes remain deep within the chest as forms, as inner imagery.

Glass is a special material, solidified without clear rules. In this way, it resembles an unsettled heart. Yet when it receives light—through refraction, transmission, or chemical reactions—that unease is distilled into a new form.

Light held within bubbles, shadows revealed through reflection and refraction, and the quiet flow that permeates empty space become my sculptural language.

Today, media saturation and the repetitive rhythm of urban life make people overlook the small lights around them.

Through glass sculpture, I seek to revive these forgotten lights and allow them to linger once more in the viewer’s mind.

This is not a display of grandeur or exaggeration, but a subtle presence that seeps into a space that has been purposefully left open.

What I pursue in my work is to create a place—through the material of glass—where light can gently reside within the viewer’s heart.
